Kill Team: SM2 Mission

Having just painted my Lt. Titus miniature, I felt I should give the Kill Team: Space Marine 2 Mission Pack a go (free on the GW Community site). It has a slightly altered rules set, and stat cards for three Ultramarines: Titus, Gadriel, and Chairon, plus four Tyranid NPO cards: Tyranid Warrior, Lictor, Termagant, and Hormagaunt. Which I'm going to use in normal Joint Ops Kill team games.

It's only one mission, but does have replayability, and will easily altered for more variances. I already have the outlines for a few new missions.
Any game were Lictors are actually scary is a good thing in my book.

A quick and fun time if you just want to break out some Marines and kill Xenos.

Old Pict Capture Time

That's too much tongue, I'm calling H.R.!

Before 3D printers, there was foam!

Old Pic of my Steel legion infantry's last game. They were replaced by new plastic Cadians. Well, they were new at the time. Now there are newer (and better in my opinion) plastic Cadians...

Repainted Klingons from Star Trek Attack Wing. Sad that game never quite lived up to its potential, and went the "build a killer combo" way instead of just good tactical combat. I'm looking at new rulesets, as always.

Somedays you just want four K'Tingas.

Battle Picts

The Grots and Tankbustas charged into a Knight seeking an easy kill. (Editor's Note: They did four points of damage then all died or fled.)

Somedays, the accidental camera shot turns out pretty artsy.

Armor Action

Just some battle pics that were not used for various reasons.

Lots of guns! Nothing quite like a heavy shootout at point blank range with no cover.

Tau Deep Strike that actually worked. Poor composition, but it does have a cat.

These matches of heavy hitters tend to go very quickly. Lots of dice though...

Knight Glamour Shots

These are pict captures of Warlord Matt's awesome Freeblade knight Army.

Is it just me, or would some of these make great Metal Album covers?

Monoliths Making Poor Choices

So I just completed my second Monolith. Now I have two! Hahahaha! I will be unstoppable!

Turns out...that is not the case. The CP drain on taking 2 Lords of War hurts a bit, but the real problem is that people hate Monoliths.

Especially when you Deep Strike behind them. Oh, it's fun for a turn, seeing their reaction and near panic. Then, most of their army shoots/assaults the poor Monolith and boom, winner for shortest time on the field...again.
We had a War Machine Rumble (Only vehicles, bigger the better) the other day, Orks with a Stompa, Morkanought, and lots of Dreads vs two Monoliths and assorted other Necron vehicles. I managed to lose BOTH Monoliths in back to back turns to the Stompa in melee combat. The high point was when the second Monolith exploded and took the Stompa with it. Still lost badly.

I have played four games with a Monolith in my army so far, and have yet to win a battle, or even have a Monolith survive, but they are so much fun, I'll keep trying.

Leftovers

"He's right behind me, isn't he?"
Sometimes I start to take some pictures during a battle, but then don't take enough, or many shots are unusably bad, and there isn't enough to do a full post. Every once in a while I will post these orphaned pict captures for your enjoyment.
I win. I touched the crash site first.

Never trust the Ork Parking Valets.

The newly promoted Boss Grot did as well as the previous one.

Battle Zone Pict Captures

Space Wolves vs. Genestealer Cult. This time I brought a tank! A bit bit risky to bring a 19 PR unit in a 50 PR game...but so worth it.

The Executioner's firepower is most impressive, but those damn cultists and their power tools still managed to do some harm to my fancy floating panzer.
Remember kids, always bring infantry support when fighting in built-up areas.
My new command platoon worked as well has I had hoped. Shooting is really great, but sometimes you just gotta get right close and personal. Even the Genestealers agree with me. Well, they did until they all died.
A fast paced slugfest that I almost lost because I forgot what the objective was.

Combat Patrol Dust Up

The Combat Patrol missions for 9th Edition have turned out to be quite entertaining. Quick battles let you pick some fun army lists that you may not normally have tried.

We did a Ork vs Tyranid battle. Mrs Blackheart's force had a Warboss, 5 Nobz, 20 Ladz, 10 Grot, and a Dred. I brought a Warrior Prime, nine Warriors and six Raveners.

The small map makes for fast engagements! In a surprise to all, the Warriors shot up the Dred on the first turn. Venom cannons are your friend.

On turn Two my Six Raveners arrived and made the charge into the Nobz. It went quite badly for me. I only killed one Nob, and the Warboss made her Heroic Intervention, and poof! No more Raveners. Damn Power Klaws...

We had two more turns of carnage, the battle flowed back and forth with the victory points staying close. At the end of turn four it came down to my Warrior Prime, her injured Warboss and the last Nobz in a fight for a objective that would determine the outcome of the game.
I had the charge and killed the Nobz, but left a wound on the Warboss. The Warboss hit well but did terrible on the damage rolls. Next turn, (Top of Five, the last turn) she attacked first and the poor Warboss had no fight left in it, zero hits, even with a command re-roll. The Prime put the Warboss out its misery for the win!

A exciting, very close game. I feel that we will play some 100PL games, a lot of the games will be Combat Patrol.

Deathwing Attacks

Just a few pics from Deathwing's Combat Debut. Imperial Guard with some defensive positions holding the line against a Tyranid advance. Deathwing is in orbit, and will arrive on turn 3.
It goes about how you would expect: Fast Tyranids tearing through the fortifications, shredding Guardsmen, and having a good time of it.

It's okay, the L.T. has got this!
Just when it almost too late (I should have really picked turn 2) the Deathwing arrive!
Those guys can really lay down the bolter fire nowadays. They disrupt the 'Nids attack and manage to save the HQ staff from Old One Eye, and one or two other Guardpersons to eek out a win.
It was a fun battle, and maybe Deathwing are the real monsters here.

For the Emperor!
